News/Blog: Tenant Satisfaction Survey

Tenants spoke, and we listened.

Based on thoughtful feedback provided in our 2022 Tenant Satisfaction Survey, we have spent the last several months implementing changes.

We hope to address as many tenant concerns as possible, and to keep improving on GVHS’ mission to provide high-quality, secure, & affordable rental housing with excellent service.

This is what we have been doing:

Increased staffing

We have increased our staffing levels, including the Tenant Services, Housing, Property Operations, Maintenance, and Caretaking departments.

Groundskeeping and Snow Removal

We have increased the frequency of service of grounds and exterior maintenance. We have improved snow removal at all properties.

Security

We have expanded security camera systems at many buildings.

Building renewal and maintenance

We are doing envelope and interior renewal at many of our aging buildings, extending their life by many decades. Tenants benefit from individual unit temperature control, including AC, new windows, improved common amenities, and renewed building exterior.

Customer service

We have improved our customer service processes, including consistent response times, clear communication of expectations, improved availability of departmental contact information, more on-site and in-person engagement, and improved direction of tenant inquiries between departments.

Support referrals

We are providing more health, financial, food security, and accessibility resources for tenants.

Community involvement

We are providing more opportunities for community involvement, including MODO carsharing, Pacific Opera Victoria, My FED Farm gardens, increased tenant gatherings, and more.

Staff education

We are providing ongoing staff training in equity, diversity & inclusion practices, anti-racism, decolonization, and reconciliation reflection, and trauma-informed communication.
